Peta-Vatthu

A part of Khuddaka Nikaya in the Pali Canon, dating to later than 300 BCE; consists of 51 verse narratives about how bad karma leads to rebirth in the realm of petas (ghosts) and how meritorious actions by the living can benefit such suffering souls.
