Low-flying planes will drop roses upon the grave during rites at the grave. Schneider was 29 years old and had been living in Queens, working at Floyd Bennett field as a flying instructor. He was tutoring a student flier Monday when his plane smashed into a naval training plane. The flier had won wide fame in aviation, having set many early flying records. He fought in the Loyalist flying corps in the Spanish Civil War.
